Happy Holi!

The month of March brings lots of joy and happiness. It is when the much await festival of colours, Holi is celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm. Holi is celebrated in Phagun, the 12th month of the Hindu calendar, which often falls in February or March as per the Georgian calendar. The festival of Holi lasts for a day and night. It starts with Holika Dahan or Choti Holi, followed by Dhulandi on the other day. This year the festival of colour will be celebrated on March 18 and Choti Holi will fall on March 17. This festival marks the victory of good over evil. It is a day when people smear colours on each other faces, enjoy their favourite delicacies and have the chilled bhang thandai. The festival promotes brotherhood and togetherness. It also marks the commencement of the Spring season in India.
